Courtesy of @Atlas1216, here's my review of this upcoming HU NMD Trail from Pharrell's 'Holi Pack' coming in March.
First impressions
This shoe delivers. Adidas and Pharrell created something amazing here. Beyond the silhouette, we receive a sense of history and culture with the story behind the shoe, and inspiration for the pack. Holi, a Hindu spring festival, also known as "Festival of Colors", signifies the victory of good over evil, and the arrival of spring. As the vivid colors on the shoe represent the colorful chalk thrown at the event, they also provide a vivid spring palette for your feet. These will undoubtedly turn heads, and be highly sought after.
Details
The top detail that stands out is the multicolor dyed upper. If you stretch it, you see white underneath as if each pair was individually dyed, which makes me wonder if any 2 pairs will have the same exact upper. Aside from that, the bright coral sole is a winner for spring style. The shoe also features green reflective laces, purple bumpers and cages, and green heel tabs. The primeknit upper helps provide maximum comfort paired with a thick boost midsole.
The trail bottom is a divided topic as far as this silhouette goes. Some people hate it, others love it, but I think it is a great addition. It makes the shoe more durable, and while it does make it heavier, I think it makes the silhouette look even sharper. Let me know what you think in the comments!
